Lake Drummond

Lake Drummond is in the middle of the Great Dismal Swamp. It is about 3 miles in diameter but shallow, 8 feet at its deepest.

It takes some effort to get there- either six miles of very rough gravel road or 4 ½miles by kayak down a canal.

On a calm day, the lake is a mirror reflecting the sky, clouds, and bald cypress trees that nature has sculpted into fantastic shapes.
