Lake Drummond
Lake Drummond is in the middle of the Great Dismal Swamp which is located in southeastern Virginia, USA. It is about 3 miles in diameter but shallow, 8 feet at its deepest. It takes some effort to get there - either six miles of very rough and pitted gravel road or 4 ½miles by kayak down a canal.
On a calm day, the lake is a mirror reflecting the sky, clouds, and bald cypress trees that nature has sculpted into fantastic shapes. And even when the wind blows a bit it can be a magical place to kayak and take photos.
